Photographing baby’s first year: the baby plan

What is a a baby plan?

Whether they call it a baby plan, baby’s first year, bump to baby, or – like me- the first year collective, most newborn photographers offer a bundle of sessions to document your baby’s first year milestones.

For example, my baby plan – The First Year Collective – includes a newborn session, sitter session, one-year session and optional maternity session.

Why choose a baby plan over a-la-carte sessions?

Savings

Most clients choose a baby plan over individually scheduled sessions because it earns them extras and/or saves them money. For example, my First Year Collective members receive an heirloom album and custom slideshow to tell the story of your baby’s first year and save around $1,000.

Consistency

If you’re planing multiple sessions throughout your baby’s first year, maintaining consistency in the photography is crucial. The initial step is to hire the same photographer, but session planning also plays a significant role. First Year Collective sessions will tell the story of your child’s first year. That means that I keep the whole collection in mind when planning each session. For instance, I ensure that our session design elements, such as wardrobe and location choices, create a cohesive first-year gallery.

Convenience

The first year goes by in a blur. As a member of the First Year Collective, you won’t need to keep track of scheduling your sessions or fret about my availability for your baby’s upcoming milestones. Your spot is pre-booked, allowing you relax knowing that I’ll contact you when it’s time to arrange your baby’s next session.

How do you book your baby plan?

If you’re in the Los Angeles area and interested in joining the First Year Collective membership, please reach out early (I recommend getting in touch during your 2nd trimester, if possible). In order to best serve my Collective members,  I limit the membership to a few newborns per month.
