Encino Family Photography
I met this lovely family shortly after their move to Encino. Since they were new to the area, we took the session as an opportunity to explore. With a 4 year old and 6 year old, Lake Balboa Park, just North of Encino, seemed the obvious choice.
Lake Balboa is famous in the Springtime for it’s cherry blossoms, but this time of year it’s plenty lovely, even without the blooming trees. It’s a fairly big place and there were a few spots I wanted to visit with the kids, so we opted to ride in style and rented a double surrey. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t exactly greased lightening, but the kids LOVED IT.
We really did have as much fun as it looks! This family was so sweet together. I loved the way they were able to just relax and enjoy being with one another for the afternoon.
Mom had specifically requested a portrait of the kids laughing. Apparently they spend A LOT of time laughing together. I can now attest to that! (this image was one of about 50 frames).
As we cruised around in the surrey, I had the kids help me scope out pretty spots to stop and photograph. There was no shortage of those!
I’m sure we made quite the sight touring the park (take this image and add me, an assistant and some camera gear and you get the idea), but we sure had fun. We did go the wrong way a couple of times and had to make a few quick 15-point turns, but our driver (Dad) took it in stride. I couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon session than the one I had with these four!
