I photographed twins Claire and Chloe, and their parents Jennifer and Brendan, right before the holidays last year. They’re a truly lovely family and I was thrilled to photograph them again last month to mark the girls’ first birthday.
Turning one (twice) is a big milestone and Jennifer and Brendan wanted to make sure to capture this time in their family’s life.
A Storytelling Session
We decided to focus the session on Claire and Chloe’s afternoon routine and split our shooting time between their home and a nearby park that the girls visit daily. I think the girls will love looking back on these images and seeing just what an afternoon in their life was like when they were one.
Lucky for me the girls decided to sleep later than usual and I was there to capture their “we woke up like this” moment. This is one of my favorites from the session!
Next up for the girls was a little playtime, which involved a lot of rolling around on the couch and some airplane with Dad.
I’ll tell you, there is nothing like watching twins eating lunch to make you realize that the one year milestone is as much an achievement for the parents as it is for the babies.
After a quick wardrobe change we were off to the park, but first I caught a few quick shots of the girls and Jennifer.
We took some more formal portraits at the park and then got back to business.
The girls are celebrating another milestone – learning to walk!
Since the girls don’t match on a daily basis we switched them into non-matching wardrobe for the park. Jennifer tells me that this shot captures their unique personalities…
Congratulations to Claire and Chloe on their first trip around the sun!
